West Valley City Information: Tickets, Venues, Events and More

The city of West Valley lies in the state of Utah, United States. The 'West Valley City' falls in the Salt Lake County and is a suburb of Salt Lake City. According to the 2000 census, the city's population stands at 108,896, making it the second-largest city in the state of Utah. As per the United States Census Bureau, the West Valley City covers a total area of 35.5 square miles and is 99.87% land.

The West Valley City lies to the northwest side of the Salt Lake Valley. The city is surrounded by the Salt Lake City to its north, South Salt Lake to its east, Magna Township to its west and the two townships 'Taylorsville' and 'Kearns' to its south. Whereas the eastern boundary of the city is marked by the Jordan River, the western side is protected by the Oquirrh Mountains.

One of the biggest attractions of the city is the E Center. The E Center is a multi-purpose arena that was found the year 1997. The arena has been used as an official Olympic Venue, during the 2002 Winter Olympics, and has witnessed performances by many stalwarts of the music industry, such as Dream Theater, Depeche Mode, Elton John, Black Eyed Peas, Prince, Dave Matthews Band, Enrique Iglesias, Neil Diamond, Trans-Siberian Orchestra, AC/DC, Kiss, The White Stripes, Collective Soul, Mötley Crüe and Metallica, among many others. Other popular centers in the city are the 'Utah Cultural Celebration Center', 'Stonebridge Golf Course', 'Westridge Golf Course', 'Rocky Mountain Raceway', 'USANA Amphitheatre', 'Hale Centre Theatre' and the 'Valley Fair Mall'.

The West Valley City is also the home of the formidable ECHL ice hockey team, the Utah Grizzlies. The home-turf of this popular team is again the E Center.
