‘Beverly’ is a city with resorts, manufacturing communities and residential facilities. Essex County, Massachusetts, the USA based Beverly has its main attraction in the form of Beverly Farms and Prides Crossing. This city is located 17 miles northeast of Boston on the North Shore. It is home to Endicott College and Montserrat College of Art.

Roger Conant settled this area in 1626 as part of Salem and Naumkeag Territories. Beverly was set off and officially incorporated in 1668 due to the religious differences with Governor John Endicott. It was named after Beverley in Yorkshire, England.

Beverly is considered the ‘Birthplace of American Navy.’ The first ship commissioned by the US military was outfitted at Glover's Wharf. It was sailed from Beverly Harbor on September 5, 1775. The first US cotton mill was introduced in Beverly in 1787. It was finally incorporated into a city in 1894.

The United Shoe Machinery Corporation was built at Beverly in 1902, which began production in 1906. This complex was closed in 1987. It was bought by Cummings Properties in 1996. The city has now developed into a campus of hi-tech companies and medical offices. It is today home to the Cherry Hill Industrial Park that straddles its boundary with Danvers. The makers of Monopoly and other games, Parker Brothers have its offices here. This city is home to the Landmark School that is famous worldwide for educating disables.

Located less than twenty miles northeast of Boston, Beverly is on the north shore of the outer part of Massachusetts Bay south of downtown Beverly at the Danvers River. According to the 2000 US census, the population of this city is 39,862. US Census Bureau defines that this city has a total area of 22.7 square miles, of which, 16.6 square miles is the land area and 6.1 square miles is water.

Beverly is bordered on the east by Manchester-by-the-Sea, by Wenham on the north and by Danvers on the west. It has Salem in the south on the other side of Danvers River.
