‘Belton’ city is renowned in Bell County in Texas, the USA for being the county seat of Bell County. This city is part of the Killeen–Temple–Fort Hood Metropolitan Statistical Area.

As per the US Census Bureau, Belton has a total area of 13.2 square miles, of which, 12.5 square miles is land area and 0.7 square miles is water. This city is in the south of Temple and north of Salado on Interstate 35. According to the 2000 census, this city has the population of 14,623. It has 14,623 inhabitants, 4,742 households and 3,319 families residing in the city circles. Its population density is 1,171.3 persons per square mile.

Belton has 5,089 housing units at an average density of 407.6/sq mi. Its racial makeup is 72.67% Whites, 8.10% African Americans, 0.64% Native Americans, 0.95% Asians, 0.10% Pacific Islanders, 14.83% from miscellaneous races and 2.71% from two or more races. Belton is home to the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor, which is affiliated with the Baptist General Convention of Texas. The Bell County Expo Center is located in Belton. It is the home of the CenTex Barracudas Indoor football team as well.
